The American Business Council recently held its first Economic Update in partnership with PwC, themed “Updates on the Nigerian Economy, Tax Regulations & the Implications of AfCFTA to Businesses. The event was well attended by business executives of various sectors of the economy.

Key note speaker, Taiwo Oyedele of PwC gave highlights on the state of the economy, tax regulations/laws and what businesses should expect from AfCTA. “The AfCFTA can be beneficial, but benefits conditional as there has to be a proper documentation and understanding of what joining entails to reap benefits. The impact of the agreement will depend on how African Countries are prepared to harness their resources such as population and natural resources”, he stated.
