The American Business Council (ABC) held a workshop in partnership with West Africa Vocational Education (WAVE), under the theme “Rethinking Talent: Rewiring the Education-to-Employment system.”

The aim of the 2-hour workshop/convening on Tuesday the 5th of November, 2019 was to direct a discourse towards Rewiring the Education-to-Employment System such as:

Discussing the challenges and opportunities faced by all stakeholders within the education-to-employment value chain,
Chart a new path/playbook for employers to play a “prosumer” role (of co-producing and consuming skills) in the system through competency-based hiring practices, co-creating work-based learning opportunities to transition youth into entry-level work and partnering with educators to bridge the gap between industry and the classroom.
